Market: Swansea City double chance
Odds: 3/5 @
Looking to make it three Championship wins on the bounce, Swansea will make the trip to St. Andrew s when they face off against Birmingham on Saturday afternoon.
Starting with the hosts, while Birmingham might have managed to pick up a point away at Huddersfield in midweek, Lee Bowyer s side will know that they were lucky to have left with a 0-0 draw. Although the former Charlton boss might have seen his side open up the 2021/22 campaign with a 1-0 win against Sheffield United, the Blues have rather drastically failed to build off of that result back in August. Heading into the international break with a dreadful 3-0 drumming at the hands of Nottingham Forest, the Midlands outfit find themselves in the midst of a seven-match winless run, a run that stems back to September 10th. Still firmly looking over their shoulder at the drop zone, Bowyer will have a real headache over his side s issues in the final third. It should be noted that Saturday s hosts have now failed to find the net in almost 550 minutes of action.
As for the visitors, while Birmingham might find themselves in the midst of a real struggle, the mood in Swansea s camp should be at a real high. Putting in another eye-catching display earlier in the week, the Swans mounted a stellar second-half comeback against West Brom on home soil as they landed a 2-1 victory. Appearing to have found their feet under Head Coach Russell Martin, they are enjoying an extended purple patch since returning from the international break. Romping their way to South London bragging rights last weekend as they picked up a 3-0 romp against local rivals Cardiff, the former MK Dons boss should be smelling a real chance to lay down another marker on Saturday afternoon. With both Jamie Paterson and Joel Piroe finding the net in back-to-back matchups since returning from the break, we re backing an away double chance here.
Bet: Swansea City double chance against Birmingham City 3/5 for Saturday s Championship battle @
