Lyon coach Bruno Genesio criticised his players bad choices after a late Hoffenheim equaliser put a dent in their hopes of reaching the Champions League knockout stage in a 2-2 draw.
Genesio s men led by two goals at half-time following strikes from Nabil Fekir and Tanguy NDombele, but Andrej Kramaric and Pavel Kaderabek plundered second-half goals to earn Hoffenheim a point, despite the visitors having Kasim Adams dismissed.
The result left Group F wide open, with second-placed Lyon three points behind Manchester City, while Hoffenheim trail the French club by three points ahead of the last two rounds of matches.
Genesio vented his frustration after being denied a victory that would have put Lyon within one point of qualification.

Chelsea are on the verge of signing Romeo Lavia from Southampton in the summer transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Italian journalist has reported on Twitter that Premier League club Chelsea have agreed a fee with Championship outfit Southampton for Lavia.
Romano has added that Chelsea will pay Southampton a fee just short of £60 million plus add-ons for Lavia. The Belgium international defensive midfielder has already agreed to move to the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners. The 19-year-old will undergo medical tests with Chelsea this week.

Inter set up a Coppa Italia quarter-final showdown with Lazio by beating second-tier Benevento 6-2 at a nearly empty San Siro on Sunday.
The seven-time winners, forced to play the tie behind closed doors after racial abuse was aimed at Kalidou Koulibaly in last month s meeting with Napoli, were two up early on through Mauro Icardi s penalty and Antonio Candreva s measured strike.
Luciano Spalletti s side put the game to bed on the stroke of half-time courtesy of Dalbert s powerful finish, with Lautaro Martinez adding the fourth after the interval.
Benevento deservedly reduced the deficit when Roberto Insigne steered home a precise free-kick, only for Martinez to net again before Filippo Bandinelli s goal brought the game s tally to seven.

Spain s public prosecutor has agreed to substitute Lionel Messi s suspended 21-month prison sentence for tax fraud with a fine.
The Barcelona superstar was given the jail term last July after being found guilty alongside his father Jorge of three counts of tax fraud.
It was ruled that Messi, between 2007 and 2009, defrauded Spain of €4.1million relating to earnings from image rights.
An appeal against the sentence was rejected by the Spanish Supreme Court in May.
However, Spanish news agency EFE reports that the public prosecutor has agreed to substitute the sentence for a fine of €255,000.
During the initial trial in 2016, Messi consistently denied any involvement, insisting his focus was only ever on playing football.

Lionel Messi has been consulted by Lionel Scaloni as the Argentina head coach ponders his future in charge of the national team.
Scaloni led Argentina to World Cup glory in Qatar last year, and in February, signed a contract keeping him at the helm through to the 2026 World Cup.
That tournament will be co-hosted by the United States, where next year s Copa America takes place.
Reigning Copa champions Argentina were placed in Group A in Thursday s draw. They will take on Peru, Chile, and either Canada or Trinidad and Tobago.
However, there is doubt over Scaloni s future, with the 45-year-old unsure as to how long he will continue in his role, and he confirmed in the wake of the draw that he has held talks with Argentina captain and talisman Messi.
Premier League Golden Boot winner Jamie Vardy has signed a new three-year deal with Leicester City.
The former England striker has been a revelation since joining the Foxes from Fleetwood Town in 2012, playing a huge part in their 2015-16 Premier League title triumph.
Vardy had just under two years to run on his previous contract, but the 33-year-old has agreed terms to extend his stay at the King Power Stadium by a further season.
The journey that I ve been on with this football club is hard to describe, and although we ve accomplished so much together already, I know that I ve got so much more to achieve with this team, so it s a special feeling to be able to commit my future to Leicester City once again, Vardy told the club s official website.

Tottenham remain without a Premier League win at Wembley after a dominant performance against Swansea City yielded only a 0-0 draw.
Spurs delivered a fine performance at England s national stadium in the Champions League on Wednesday by beating Borussia Dortmund 3-1.
But they could not match that display in Saturday s contest, with Harry Kane hitting the crossbar as Spurs failed to score in a home league game for the first time in 30 outings.
Having failed to score a first-half goal for the third home game in succession, Mauricio Pochettino s men carried more of a threat in the second half but found Swansea goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski in impressive form.
Son Heung-min was Kane s chief lieutenant in attack, but both failed to find a way through, with Spurs…
Jordan Ayew has become Leicester City s seventh signing of the transfer window after his move from Crystal Palace was confirmed on Friday.
Ayew, who made 212 appearances for the Eagles, arrives in the East Midlands for an initial £5million fee, potentially rising to £7.5million dependent on performances.
The 32-year-old offers Steve Cooper another experienced head in the forward areas alongside Jamie Vardy as the Foxes prepare to take on Fulham this Saturday.
Ayew has featured 275 times in the Premier League for three different teams, scoring more English top flight goals for Palace (23) than he managed for any other club.
He featured 37 times for the Eagles last season, registering 11 goal involvements (four goals and seven assists), with his assist…
According to a recent report from Calciomercato, Juventus are on the verge of holding onto defender Merih Demiral after all during the January transfer window. The expectation was that he would be looking elsewhere once the window opened next month with a series of Premier League clubs showing their interest – in addition to fellow Serie A side AC Milan.
Now, though, as it turns out, Juve aren’t planning on making all too many – if any – changes in regards to outgoings during the window.
They’re going to be busy attempting to bring in a few more faces ahead of what is bound to be a busy few months for them, but Demiral isn’t expected to be someone that departs.
Considering the race that they’re in at the top of the table with Inter Mila…
